Internship at Cadavre Exquis Couture

I would like to introduce you to my internship expierience at Cadavre Exquis Couture, a Belgian fashion brand located in the historic heart of Bruges, where the main focus was on pattern creation and branding.

Content and purpose

I learned a lot about corset construction, with a main focus on pattern making and garment construction, complemented by a few branding assignments. Creating the Pinterest page was a fun challenge and a great opportunity to further refine my Adobe skills.

I also felt very much at home in the historical aspects of the internship. Extracting a pattern from a historical garment was a particularly meaningful experience for me, and something I am truly proud of.

I especially loved the emphasis on customisation and creating something beatifull for a human bodytype. The diverse programme and low-stress working environment were things I truly appreciated. Maya is a fantastic teacher, and I learned a great deal from her—especially about what it takes to run a business.
